The Mississippi Academy of Ancient Music has been presenting concerts in central Mississippi by the finest international and local artists for more than 20 years,  to the great acclaim of local audiences and enthusiasts.  Originating from a series of musical birthday parties sponsored by Sociology Professor Ernst Borinski of Tougaloo College,  the Mississippi Academy of Ancient Music  believes in music as a powerful force to bring people together.  MA'AM is committed to presenting the music of former times as it might have originally been heard  -  on the instruments available at the time,  performed in the  manner and style of the period.  In addition to concerts,  the Academy sponsors workshops for high school students with our guest artists.

The concerts are held in the Jackson, Mississippi area,  with community support,  at St. Philip's Episcopal Church on evenings the church can donate the ensemble hall or in the newly renovated,  historic Woodworth Chapel at Tougaloo College.  The Academy is a non-profit organization,  and your donations are tax deductible.  Friend ($30),  Member ($60),  Supporter ($120),  and Muse ($250)
